Mobile Viewpoint Debonding and Playout Server – Rack Decoder

The WMT playout portfolio makes it possible to receive live video from any WMT system using broadband internet networks  The WMT outputs consist of 19 inch 1U or 2U high systems with two Ethernet connections providing next to video input also video output or video return.

The WMT decoders connect to the internet with just a single Ethernet connection. When the correct ports are forwarded in the firewall the signals of a WMT will come in and turned into a video signal. This video signal will exit the WMT decoders through a SDI video connection with embedded audio.

The system supports both DHCP and ­fixed IP number confi­guration via the front LCD panel. The management interface is WEB-based and makes it possible to confi­gure maximum bitrate, video resolution and delay. Also, the IP con­figuration can be done via the web interface. This package includes a service providing access to the LinkMatrix where it is possible to manage and administer the terminal and connections to other WMT terminals.

The WMT family of portable receivers are Mobile Viewpoint’s decoding and playout servers that are typically located at the receiving location. As a vital part of the Mobile Viewpoint broadcast and live streaming workflow, receivers enable the debonding, decoding and playout of simultaneous live SD, HD and 4K video streams generated by Mobile Viewpoint’s WMT encoder fleet.  

For standard playout, Mobile Viewpoint provides a 1U server with up to 4x HD-SDI outputs. For a REMI version there is a  2U server to include RCP, Tally control and PreSonus for enhanced IFB audio return. There is also the option for a receiver to be configured with internal modems so receivers can be installed in a remote location with no LAN connectivity, such as an OB truck. 

It is also possible to use 3rd party encoders from other manufacturers by utilzing a “Universal Playout” feature in LinkMatrix, the Mobile Viewpoint hosted management platform.
