Description

Smaller, lighter, and more acoustically transparent than their Modular Windshield System, the Nano Shield NS1-BA from Rycote redefines the standards of microphone windshield performance and versatility. Highly advantageous for boom operators, sound designers, and location recordists, the Nano Shield NS1-BA is a complete windshield and suspension setup with indoor and outdoor wind protection, a low-profile XLR cable with a built-in RF filter and a switchable low-cut filter, and more. Not only does the NS1-BA model fit shotgun-style microphones up to 4.8″ long, but its mix-and-match basket design allows it to accommodate many other mic sizes by swapping optional basket halves.

Setting a New Standard
The Nano Shield offers an enhanced level of wind protection paired with improved acoustic transparency. The kits are smaller and on average weigh 30% lighter than Modular Windshield Kits. The updated advanced Lyre mounts are also more compliant and offer better handling noise reduction. Overall the Nano Shield Kits raise the bar for performance and versatility.
Mix-and-Match Basket Design
The Nano Shield kits use a special magnetic locking basket design, which can be configured to fit various microphone sizes by simply swapping out basket halves. Each size of basket half can interlock with any other size. They also have two manual locking sliders to hold everything secure and noise free. Quickly and easily access mics by simply pulling the halves apart.
Lighter, Smaller, and More Flexible
The Nano Shield kits are on average 30% lighter than standard kits and have a smaller footprint when used with the same microphones. The basket shell is made from semi-rigid material that combines strength with flexibility.
Advanced Lyre Mounts
Rycote has advanced the patented Lyre mount and redesigned them specifically for the Nano Shield kits. While the basic shape might look similar, the material, thickness, center of gravity, and mechanical properties have been engineered to provide a more compliant handling response in the direction the microphone is pointing whilst giving more stability in other directions to prevent mics from “bottoming-out” or moving side-to-side.
No Tools Required
The Lyre mounts and mounting bar on the Nano Shield can be adjusted, repositioned, or swapped out by loosening/tightening the thumbwheel attached to the bar. Likewise, the swivel arm can be repositioned by loosening the friction braking wheel with interchangeable adapters for an integrated PCS tip or 3/8″ thread.
RF Filter and Low-Cut XLR
The Nano Shield comes supplied with a low-profile XLR cable that has both an active in-line RF filter and a switchable 80 Hz low-cut filter (requires phantom power).
Ready to Use Out of the Box
The basket design and included windjammer allow you to customize the level of wind protection to meet your needs. In addition, the patented mounting bar and Lyre mounts can be repositioned, swapped out, and taken apart without the need for any tools.

Delivery

Please note, for next-day shipping options the product must show in stock in the product status and be before the cut-off period. If the product does not show in stock most items will give an approximate lead time.

Collection
 Free Collection is available at our showroom in Hampton, please select this option at the payment stage at the checkout. Please allow one hour to pick and prepare your order for you so it is ready for you when you arrive. Collections must be made at our office during the hours of 9 am to 5:30 pm (Mon to Thurs) and 9 am to 5 pm (Friday).

Standard Delivery
Standard delivery costs £5.99 including VAT and will be sent out by Royal Mail or APC, this service can take 3-5 working days.

FREE UK Delivery On Orders Over £250
We offer FREE standard delivery on all orders over £250 Ex VAT to the UK mainland. Mon-Fri working days only. Saturday deliveries are not guaranteed.

Next Working Day Delivery
UK mainland orders placed before 2 pm will be dispatched the same day for next-day delivery. To qualify for next-day delivery orders must be placed before 2 pm Mon – Thur. Orders placed after 2 pm Thursday will be dispatched Friday for Monday delivery, excluding Bank Holidays. The charge for this service is £12.00 plus VAT. This service is only available for products that are in stock.

Saturday Delivery
Order before 2pm on Friday for Saturday deliveries. Saturday delivery cost £27.50 including VAT – this is only for the UK mainland.
