When shooting at close distances, a Hybrid IS system compensates for the type of unwanted camera shake typically encountered when shooting macro subjects. The lens also allows Combination IS, which works with EOS R bodies for 5-axis stabilisation to deliver super-steady video footage, even while walking with the camera.
